The Scioto Boat Club Presents The 2007 Scioto Wakefest

Wakesurfers, Wakeboarders, Hydrofoilers, and Wakeskaters compete at the Second Scioto Wakefest on Griggs Reservoir in Columbus, Ohio on July 7th and July 8th. Wakefest is growing this year; we've added a high-flying hydrofoil competition and a board-flipping wakeskate competition. We've also added over $1,000 in cash and over $2,000 in prizes!

There will be two rounds for each skill, one behind a Malibu and the other behind a Centurion. Trophies will be awarded for top competitors in thirteen competitive divisions. Cash awards will be made for Outlaw Wakeboard, Advanced Wakesurf, and Advanced Hydrofoil divisions. Other prizes will be raffled; all competitors in non-cash divisions will be entered in the raffle. Raffle prizes include wakesurf boards from Inland Surfer, the Walker Project, Trick Boardz, and Shred Stixx, as well as a Hyperlight wakeboard, a Fly High Tsunami Pump, a Fly High Fat Brick, and more.

Need more reasons to ride at the Scioto Wakefest? Whether you're a seasoned Outlaw or Novice entering your first competition, you will qualify to enter the NWL Nationals held just an hour east of Columbus in Dayton Ohio. Demo the best wake sports boats and gear going. Centurion and Malibu boats will pull the competition as well as clinics; these fine boats will also be available for demonstrations. The American Wakesurf Association is bringing a boatload of the latest wakesurf boards for you to demo. How about stepping up your game - that's right, wakeboard, wakesurf and hydrofoil clinics will be available. Last but not least, you'll take home a custom Kokopelli Wakefest T-shirt.

Wakesurf and hydrofoil competitions and wakeboard clinics will be held on Saturday July 7th. Wakeboard and wakeskate competitions and wakesurf and hydrofoil clinics will be held on Sunday July 8th.

This event is made possible through major support provided by Know Wake Marine, Malibu Boats, Sun Fun Marine, and Centurion Boats. The City of Columbus Recreation and Parks Department has granted special permitting for the event. This grassroots event has been sanctioned by the National Wakeboard League, a division of USA Water Ski, by the American Wakesurf Association, and by the United States Hydrofoil Association.

Thirteen divisions have been created to encourage all to compete. The event registration fee is $35 and guest USA Water Ski memberships are available for $10. Each day on-site registration begins at 9:00 AM and the competition starts at 10:00 AM. Registration is first-come first-served and is limited.
