From 17th till 19th August the European elite of wakeboarding will meet in Almere, The Netherlands to determine the new European champions! Over 120 athletes from more than 15 nations are expected!
Mike Ketellapper, the acting European champion, will be there, too and he has got good chances to defend his title which he has won in Berlin in 2006.
After all the cableway in Almere is his home cable.
The town Almere, in the function of a host, look forward to this event and assured to support it. Because next to Mike Ketellapper Marcel Doorgeest and Myanka Jansen as the local heroes of the Netherlands will fight for the title and will support their absolute motivated team.
Basis for the positive consent of the International Waterski Federation has been the application of the Nederlandse Waterski and Wakeboard Bond.
The application has been supported by the local club, the Waterski Vereniging Almere.
The Netherlands are one of the top nations in wakeboarding for years and contributed to the development of this sport. Also sponsor partners like PROTEST - a label based in the Netherlands, which accompanies the sport since 2005 – are enthused because of the consent.
6 individual titles in the categories girls/boys as well as junior men/junior ladies, open men/open ladies and masters will be up for decision. Finally the team valuation will follow.
The realisation of the Wakeboard European Championships does not only mean to marvel at spectacular jumps and tricks. This event will be filled with great side events, music and party – a great atmosphere over 3 days.
The organisers expect – like in previous years - more than 10.000 enthused fans of the boardsport at Lido Almere.
