Gov. LRay Villafuerte launches Caramoan photo exhibit in Greenbelt 5, Makati City

Some of the country’s biggest and most prominent names in business and tourism industries swarmed the Fashion Walk of the prestigious Greenbelt 5 in Makati City as Camarines Sur Gov. LRay Villafuerte launched the CaramoanX6 Photo Exhibit, December 17 to 20.

The three-day photo exhibit, showcased the work of six of the country’s leading photographers with striking images taken during their visit to the exotic islands of Caramoan. 
Seasoned photographers Sara Black, Jo Ann Bitagcol, Paolo Pineda, Mark Nicdao, Jake Versoza, and Jun De Leon auctioned during the event some of their masterpieces which captured the dramatic splendor of the mysterious destination that has become the newly-fangled favourite of countless international events, including the TV series SURVIVOR of countries like France, Serbia, Israel, Bulgaria, and Turkey.  The coffee table book featuring the masterpieces of the famous photographers was also put on sale during the event, with proceeds to be used to strengthen the trailblazing Governor’s educational program in CamSur.

Gov. LRay Villafuerte, the man behind CamSur’s unprecedented transformation into a world class tourism icon expressed his delight at the massive turnout of spectators to the venue to witness the exhibit that captured the innate fusion of nature and art that are characteristic of the islands of Caramoan.

Multi-awarded photographer Paolo Pineda described Caramoan as a paradise to any journalist.  “Anybody with a camera will surely find a magnitude of subjects in the islands,“ said Pineda. “One of my works exhibited was that of the waters of Caramoan, and I took it on my way there - before I could even set foot on the island.  “That’s how beautiful the place is,” a beaming Pineda disclosed during the interview.

Star-studded by some of the most sought after personalities in modelling and photography, the event kicked off with a cocktail party last December 17 with a stellar cast of prominent personalities in attendance including Fernando Zobel de Ayala of Ayala Corporation with various heads of offices of the company, Regional Directors of the Department of Tourism, business socialites Gina and Ernie Lopez, former model Abegail Arenas de Leon, actress and model KC Concepcion, and TV host and model Marc Nelson who was also the emcee during the unveiling of the exhibits.

Caramoan has been one of the flagbearers of Gov. LRay Villafuerte’s massive tourism program that has landed the province at the pinnacle of Philippine tourism and ushered in the unprecedented transformation of CamSur.  The photo exhibit was launched to herald a new phase in Gov. LRay Villafuerte’s comprehensive tourism program, geared at bolstering CamSur’s status as the top tourist destination and to draw more visitors to the province to fuel the continuous development of Camarines Sur.  DoodgeAndujar -MMEC
